a thread:
A guy hold a black clearbook (although, I saw hime today holding a laminated paper printed with pictures) asked me if he could take some of my time to answer a survey.
Having ‘surveys’ as the usual favors that people from my campus want me to do, I agreed to his ‘survey.'
He asked me these questions that seemed normal for a survey at first. But here’s the catch: he’s good with words. He continued asking me questions and then redirected me to go inside McDonalds near Letran.
I was suspicious. But I kept my cool and proceeded on-
-- since I have a small exacto knife with me anyways so I thought that maybe, that could help.
This kuya (who held the clearbook) proceeded to ask more questions. UNTIL THE QUESTIONS TURNED PERSONAL.
That totally put me off since I take my privacy seriously.
That kuya who was asking for personal questions WAS REALLY PERSISTENT. I KID YOU NOT. So I proceeded to bluffing. I told him that my parents work in this infamous firms and all the bullshits I can come up with.
Kuya bought my lies, anyways. But here’s the scary part:
Kuya then proceeded to “advertise” this enterprise/small business that can make your money grow. He said that for an amount of 8880 Php, I can start my own business and earn 40k a month.
He then mentioned a 12th Grade student from Mapúa University-
--That applied to his business and is earning thousands of pesos.
Of course, I was really suspicious then but I just went with his flow.
It was JC Enterprise that he was endorsing. He said that for an amount of 8880 Php, I can earn a lot of money. I didn’t buy it.
Kuya then proceeded to show me a form that I need to fill out with PERSONAL information and SIGN IT. I didn’t want to.
BUT BOY, THAT GUY WAS PERSISTENT IT SCARED ME.
I wanted to leave. I live too far from Manila and my parents must be looking for me.
I made the urge to get out of McDonalds near Letran. BUT JESUS FUCKING CHRIST, KUYA HAD A SQUAD WITH HIM.
The other guy was vaping and the rest were just regular college boys (at least, they looked like college boys).
The ENTIRE group surrounded me. PUSHING ME TO SIGN THAT DAMNED FORM.
I DIDN’T WANT TO.
Kuya also insisted that I pay on that night. ON THAT FUCKING NIGHT. 8880 Php ON THAT NIGHT.
Again, I didn’t want to. Plus, I have no cash or money because siz, I’m broke.
After 30 mins of surrounding me, they finally let me off the hook.
Kuya told me that I just give hime the form tomorrow.
But the most creepy and scary part was--
He told me, “‘Wag mong sasabihin kahit kanino ‘to ha. Kahit sa parents mo or sa best friend mo.”
I mean, if you’re promoting a business, shouldn’t you let everyone spread the word?? This spells nothing but SCAM.
Kaya to all students studying in schools inside Intramuros (especially those walking near Letran), DO NOT ENTERTAIN that kuya holding out a laminated piece of paper/black clearbook with chinky eyes.
He also brought friends along with him. One guy vapes right in front of McDo
Then he also has around 4-5 others friends that look like college boys BUT DO NOT BE FOOLED.
AGAIN, DO NOT ENTERTAIN THAT KUYA HOLDING OUT A BLACK CLEARBOOK OR A LAMINATED PIECE OF PAPER.
IT’S A TRAP. PLEASE BEWARE.

Thank you for coming to my TED talk.
POSITIVE NEWS: They aren’t in Intramuros anymore (I walk towards McDo Letran on a specific time since Monday). I will also be filing a complaint when I finally meet these due dates that I have.

These scammers usually predate on senior high school students and freshies. They mostly approach female students.
I have gotten the news that the students they tried scamming in Intramuros are female LPU students. PLEASE BE MORE CAREFUL (!!!)
