THREAD // Making Friends Is Easier Than You Think

Had a great time with @MyLatinLife @NomadicHustler and @_RobORourke at dinner last night

It's easy when you're in school

But a lot of people seem to have trouble making new friends as they get older

The school environment is conducive to friendship because you spend so much time together

You share classes, activities and meals together so it's easy to find your tribe

Because you're younger, your standards are also low

You haven't refined who you are and what you want

As you get older and finish school, you're not really forced to be anywhere except work (if you work in an office)

A lot of people struggle with making new friends because they don't SEEK OUT additional activities that put them in environments where they can make friends

Over time, I've noticed that my friends tend to share the following characteristics

💥 They're ambitious

Almost of my friends are business owners and business growth is highly dependent on personal improvement

💥 They're positive

They have a positive outlook no matter what

💥 They're financially successful (or striving to be)

Some are millionaires

Some aren't

But they're all actively pursuing financial goals

💥 They're passionate about life

This is one reason I click so well with people who love travel

They genuinely enjoy the world and unlocking its wonders

💥 They're avid travelers

I have less and less to talk about with people who don't travel

Travel = new stories to share

💥 They're healthy

This doesn't mean they're all fitness nuts

But all my friends are in shape and so some form of exercise

💥 They're smart

Many are book lovers, reflective of where they are and where they want to be and effective at achieving their goals

💥 They're social

We all need our alone time, but my friends are all social

They're also good connectors and always open to make introductions

💥 They're generous

They're all giving (not stingy)

They share an abundance mindset

💥 They're creative

Some are artists

Most aren't

But everyone has a creative side, whether it's through writing, video, photography or building products
