People may have noticed that my recent tweets focus on criticising @UKLabour and in particular @jeremycorbyn. This thread explains why and the reason why I believe all remainers should make it clear that they won't vote @UKLabour again while he is leader. 1/

In 2016 he put in what can only be described as a very lacklustre campaign for remain. He didn't appear in big tv debates, he talked as much about 'the need for EU reform' as he did the reasons to remain. Some say he deliberately undermined remain:

When the referendum result did come in, there wasn't a reaction of disappointment from Corbyn, or even of sensible planning for what sort of brexit would be least damaging. Instead he declared 'article 50 must be invoked now!'

As the months passed and Theresa May unnecessarily declared her hard Brexit red lines, rather than opposing them in any real way Corbyn actually backed them..declaring that unlike Norway who are not a member of the EU, 'we must leave the single market!' 4/

And this was a stance he held very firm on. He whipped his MPs into voting for unamended article 50, he whipped them to abstain on a key vote calling for an EEA/single market brexit. He even sacked Owen Smith for publicly stating that the UK should stay in the SM. 5/

Now we all know that staying in the single market offers the least damaging brexit. It is clear in the govt's impact studies. It is clear that it is the only option which offering frictionless trade with our neighbours. But Corbyn hates it. One reason being free movement. 6/

Time and again since the ref, he has repeated and exaggerated myths about FOM. He has neglected to mention large net economic contributions made by EU citizens, he has exaggerated their effect on wages (see gov't own migration studies). He has stated FOM 'must end'. 7/

At no point has he spoken about the huge opportunities offered to British people by FOM...the rights to freely move, live, work, study, receive cheap healthcare and retire within around 30 countries of our own continent. He wants to end YOUR rights. 8/

All the while he maintains that the gov't deal must pass @UKLabour 'exact same benefits' test. Clearly leaving the SM fails this test. Anything else is further 'cakeism' which Boris Johnson sold the country in 2016. And again...FOM is a huge benefit to millions! 9/

In June 2018, 100,000+ marched for a people's vote because we can all now see brexit was sold on lies. Corbyn was abroad. In October 2018, 700,000+ marched. Corbyn was away again. 10/

Recently 86% of Labour party members stated they wanted a people's vote which changed Labour party policy to include it as a last resort. STILL @jeremycorbyn told @SPIEGEL_English recently that Brexit "can't be stopped". He has since said a people's vote is not priority. 11/

Today, on Sky News Corbyn was asked directly whether HE supported a people's vote...he subconsciously shook his head. He was asked if he would vote remain in another referendum...He could not even bring himself to say he would, even at this stage. 12/

We are so close to the conclusion of brexit negotiations and still the main opposition position party doesn't properly oppose Brexit due to one man who is happy to remove rights from his own citizens and see the UK become worse off (as per impact analysis on leaving the SM) 13/

He once claimed that he would oversee a "Jobs first brexit". That of course is a total lie given his position on the single market. 14/

@jeremycorbyn has proven himself to be a dishonest man on Brexit. He has effectively enabled it to happen each step of the way (2016 until now). All remainers must make it clear that they will not vote @UKLabour if @jeremycorbyn remains as leader. He will not change. 15/15
