Let's talk about the new Frantic Search art by @mmalloyart.

This piece is filled with easter eggs, objects from other cards throughout Magic history. I have confirmed 13 with Mitchell so far, and I'm pretty sure that is all of them.

Thread time. #MTG #MTGUMA #Vorthos
#1: Sarpadian Empires, Vol. VII

My brand appears in the left column, identified by its rough edges, rugged cover, and it's violet bookmark ribbon.
#2: Book of Rass

This tome is easily identifiable by its gem-inlaid cover.
#3: Cogworker's Puzzleknot

The cube from Kaladesh can be seen on top of the pile in the background, the blue orb on its side clearly visible.
#4: Decoction Module

A tube from the upper section of the module can be seen (slightly stylized) in the foreground, glowing aether still inside.
#5: Icy Manipulator

This orb of limited bane pulls from the 9th Edition art, except it's closed and dormant on the desk instead of tapping down lands and blockers. Note the matching etching on its surface.
#6: Spellbook

Any good student at Tolaria West needs a spellbook, and the one in this art is a reference to the original printing from Exodus. The red and blue patterns are easily visible.
#7: Sensei's Divining Top

Hidden in the shadows of the foreground (I kicked up the brightness so you can see it better) is an original Top of banlist fame.
#8: Aether Vial

Memnarch's bauble appears in the corner, brimming with the raw energy of creation.
#9: Frantic Search

A throwback to the original art for this art, a capsule containing a weird creature can be seen in the corner. It's not a beeble, but I guess we have to accept that those things won't be appearing in black-bordered Magic ever again.
#10: Grimoire of the Dead

The legendary skin-tome of Innistrad that aids in necromancy is on the right-side column of books. Its bony spine is unmistakable.
#11: Charm School

Straight from the Un-iverse is an allusion to Charm School. The writing on the spine of the book is a similar style, and being in a toppling tower of tomes is a cute play on the Unglued card's balancing mechanic.
#12: Walking Archive

The scroll monster of Ravnica is missing something! The red banding around the Archive's scrolls is a dead giveaway here.
#13: Artificer's Assisstant

The final easter egg belongs to our lil birb frand we met in Dominaria earlier this year. As a reference to Thieving Magpie, this is an Inception-level easter egg!
Oh hey this is getting enough traction for me to do a "check out my SoundCloud" thing. I cohost a #Vorthos podcast called The Vorthos Cast. We're taking a week off for Thanksgiving, so you'll have plenty of time to catch up! soundcloud.com/user-345643028
Apparently Twitter ate this part of the thread, so here it is again:

#11: Charm School

An allusion straight from the Un-iverse, the lettering on the binding of this book is a reference to the tome seen on the Unglued card. The play on the card's balancing mechanic is cute.
