The Star Citizen free-fly event which runs Nov 23 - 30 is underway.

And of course everything is broken. Right off the bat.

It's amazing what can happen to an entire web sub-system with thousands of people try to download something all at once so they can collectively lol at the same time. You need extra bandwidth for that.

It's bad enough that they hurriedly pushed the horribly broken 3.3.6 ahead of today's event. In that, they moved the starting spawn point from Lorville back to Port Olisar. I couldn't believe that they did that.

But it makes sense because Lorville is a massive performance nightmare and glitch fest. They're hoping that new players aren't going to stick around to find out that Lorville exists, let alone how to get there.

So with this move, to get to the Lorville location and shopping area, n00bs - in a badly broken game with horrid documentation, have to jump through hoops to see the eye-candy zoned-off city of Lorville

- spawn at Port Olisar
- figure out how to get a ship
- take-off
- fly about 15 mins to Hurston
- figure out how to stay outside the no-fly-zones without dying
- figure out how to land

Well the game crashed and he hasn't been able to log back in because all systems are down again.

So he's just watching videos now
