Reminder: Emails show that Cohen's intermediary on the Moscow deal was Felix Sater, who wrote in a 2015 email: "Our boy can become president of the USA and we can engineer it."

The doc describes an intermediary as "Individual 2."

Old NYT story: nytimes.com/2017/08/28/us/…
Cohen admitted this morning that he lied to Congress on Aug. 28, 2017, when he told House and Senate investigators that the Moscow Project ended in January 2016 and was not discussed extensively with others in the company.
The doc describes "Individual 2" as a U.S. citizen.

Born in Russia, Sater is now a U.S. citizen who became a government informant after pleading guilty in 1998 to a Russian mafia-orchestrated pump-and-dump stock fraud scheme.

.@CourthouseNews also reported on this history in covering a 2013 lawsuit against Sater and the Bayrock Group, where he worked as managing director. Bayrock has been involved with multiple Trump projects.

This lawsuit was later removed to SDNY.

That case was voluntarily dismissed in 2015.
Here is the Miami Herald story cited in that old Courthouse News coverage. miamiherald.com/news/local/com…
