What is the Norway+ proposal? It is a possible FR destination. As is Canada. The inescapable problem is that the PD can't be binding; so should not comfort 'soft' Brexiters. Stronger words won't help. The starting point is the single customs territory. We'll build from there. 2/
Alternatively, it is an attempt to renegotiate the WA, backstop and all. If so, it is a non-runner. The EU will not accede to it. It would take years to negotiate when we have weeks. So... either way, I can't see it as a solution. 3/

For me, it is best for Parliament to decide to revoke the A50 notice, and abandon the failed Brexit project. Legally, we will know how straightforward it is once the CJEU decides Wightman. Politically, I'll admit, it looks miles away. But if the WA falls, things will change. 5/5
