So Republicans in Michigan and Wisconsin are super busy this week working on ways to undermine the Democrats who had the temerity to win more votes than their Republican opponents for gov, SoS, and AG last month

WI and MI Rs got their inspiration from NC GOP lawmakers. When Dem Cooper ousted McCrory in 2016, they
*Cut his appointments from 1,500 posts to 300
*Forced (GOP-controlled) Senate approval of cabinet appointments
*Stripped his authority over the state election board
And more!

After a marathon session in the dead of night, here's how Wisconsin Republicans kneecapped their incoming governor:

*Narrow the early voting window to just 2 weeks (it’s as long as 6 in some metropolitan areas—places where record-setting midterm early voting turnout helped elect Evers)
*Weaken the office of AG
*Limit the Evers admin’s role in rulemaking to implement new laws
...and more!

Next door in Michigan, Republican lawmakers are up to much the same thing.

To undermine their incoming Dem gov, AG & SoS, GOPers are
*Stripping the SoS of authority to enforce campaign finance law by creating the “Fair Political Practices Commission,” a new body of 3 Rs & 3 Ds, ensuring that they'd deadlock over decisions and be totes ineffectual...

...Allowing the legislature to intervene in lawsuits, a power currently reserved only for the AG
*Dictating how the secretary of state selects members of the bipartisan redistricting commission voters elected to create via ballot measure just last month

But Michigan Republicans aren't just spending their lame-duck session undermining the incoming Democratic administration. They're also gutting a paid sick leave measure and a minimum wage hike.
