@bengoldacre @stuartberry1 What’s the metric? As good as...?Better than a google search? Better than a GP? Or better than an untrained operator going through a script on the telephone? Better than a receptionist trying to triage? Better than a trained nurse on the phone? Better than a Neurologist?
@bengoldacre @stuartberry1 Because I’d be hopeless in that context. Context is everything, and the idea a single team can make a determination without decent data is... difficult for me to accept.
@bengoldacre @stuartberry1 But technology allows data, at scale, to drive work. And it makes randomisation easy peasy, it’s just the tech companies call it A-B testing. Have a new model? Test on the old data, check for regressions and start live tests and turnaround evaluation in days or weeks.
