Shout out to @mstum for reminding me 1Gb PoE USB splitters are completely viable for Raspberry Pis - now running a few off my UniFi PoE switches and using just 1 outlet on the UPS: amazon.com/gp/product/B07… Less wiring and if the network's up, the Pis are up, e.g. Pi-hole & Z-wave.
@mstum I dismissed them early because I thought "APs are pulling 5-6 watts max...not nearly enough power", since a Pi can eat ~2.4A a 5V or 12 watts. But that's nonsense, the UniFi switches can generally do 24-36 watts per port...the APs just don't need that. Sanity check appreciated!
@mstum The reason this model is so appealing to me is I have:

- Pis
- APs
- USG
- Modem
...all on 3 outlets to a UPS. With a chunky UPS, all of that can stay online 24+ hours after power is out. Plus, much less power wiring and mess.

@mstum A note to others: there is a slightly cheaper version of these, yes, but one is 100Mb and my link was 1Gb. If you have a Pi 3B+, they have 1Gb Ethernet so you'll really just want to spend the extra 4 bucks and have one that works with any model.
