When he was only five years old,
He loved to read and write,
Stories of heroes and villains,
And his drawings come alive in the night.

When he got into primary school,
He drew and wrote fantasies galore,
And his mother was so proud of him,
They found a home on their sitting room door.

When he got into secondary school,
The books were all assigned,
And his mother never read his stories nor appreciate his drawings
Because she couldn't afford the time.

While in senior secondary school,
His teacher pulled him to the side,
Told him to stop writing fiction & drawing heroes,
And handed him an essay guide.

He didn't bring his essays home,
And he never showed his mum,
He stopped writing all together,
Because He didn't find it fun.

Now School's supposed to teach you,
But it only taught him he was wrong,
And he sure would like to write & draw again,
But his imagination's gone... 😞
