Proclaim December 11th as Penny Raven Day by Sal Quintero. For 44 years either she or her husband have served on a Commission or Board. First time since then to not be on one. Most recently on Historic Landmark Commission.
Recognize and Thank County Departments that assisted during Election Time. County Clerk/ Registrar of Voters Brandi Orth introduces her team. Public Health had room flooded and so they volunteered to help with Election Day. Only had to go to Court once (and they won!) Orth says
Orth: District Attorney Lisa Smittcamp will prosecute if any election fraud is found. @BuddySupervisor says Orth is best voter registration in California. Bags of Lifesavers passed out to all who help with election for being “Lifesavers” 56% of eligible voters this past election.
Moving to Consent item 50 over Agreement with CSDC, inc. that would upgrade Environmental Health Date software for County’s building permit system. A public member feels his company was 30% less than winning bid & takes less internal development cost to County staff. All his
Company Only does Environmental Health Data and is more than qualified although bid team said they were deficient. County Counsel Cedarborg says appeal process didn’t go very far and would need to be re-agendized by Supervisors if they wish to do so. Only 7 days to appeal by
the public. Supervisor Pacheco says that didn’t happen within 7 days. He asks Counsel what is his choices? A: have to wait for this contract to come up again in five years. Or seek counsel. Magsig says Internal Services still likes original firm anyway. Approved 4-0.
Retirement Plaque to Juanita Reyna after 25 years at Social Services. Was well respected by both County Departments and the public.
Accept Fresno County Foster Care Standards and Oversight Committee (begun in 2001) Annual Report: They work hard to provide advice on improving the foster care system as a whole and not day to day work as Social Services do. They work for the most vulnerable children.

@airfrezno Kevin Hall asks about giving more diverse representation on Air Board as some of the current members deny Climate Change. Whereas County documents talk about Climate Change he feels Air Board should as well. Next public member speaks about Homecare issue. She had to
quit her good hospital job to help her truck driver husband who had spinal injury. She treats him for $11 an hour where Registered Nurses were getting $25 for same work. She does complete medical care like wound dressing. She needs wage increase in order to support her family.
Radley Reep says a year ago League of Women Voters to place General Plan on Agenda to answer some confusion. Group forced to do this under Public Comment portion last week. No response from Supervisors to that request. He asks them to place it on agenda. Clerk says Supervisors
cannot answer in this format. Reep takes this as a NO from Supervisors and will proceed as such. He would like Environmental Impact Report (EIR) to be paused until the public’s confusion is answered.
Going to Closed Session now (9 items on it). Next Meeting January 8, 2019 where there will be official Designation of Officers. Magisg will slide into Chair Position with Borgeas’ Seat now vacant and Mendes to Vice Chair.
