As we move towards a #PeoplesVote there's lots of talk about a "backlash" & consequences
We need to get real, all options will have similar consequences, because far right appeasement doesn't work

The faux posh voice is just a front
- 2nd ref
- May's deal
- No deal
Yes, a 2nd ref and reversal will cause a backlash, but at least it would have democratic credibility, it would have been voted for and the majority, by definition, would be happy. Let's look at the other options.
Division would be stoked
Every climb down would be seen as a further betrayal. This isn't the answer.
The answer is in the question. They can't be appeased.
No deal would be our Versailles moment, destitution forced on us by the EU
Does anyone really think it's credible that Brexit leaders will accept responsibility when they haven't so far?
Nonsense
The impacts of no planes flying, food & drug shortages etc would be portrayed as EU hostile acts
Mogg & the ERG are not normal politicians. A normal politician would have accepted defeat on the confidence vote with grace & integrity

There is no route that avoids agitation, so it's best to face it with a stronger country, in the EU, with a democractic mandate
You cannot appease the far right, and you shouldn't even try
