Inspired by the excellent thread below, thought I would supplement with a few unicorn kills of my own around Article 50
There is no "Stop A50 until we sort Brexit out", this is English exceptionalism
It will not be extended for renegotiation, or for a GE with 2 Brexit supporting parties
There's no time for any new negotiation
There is no "pause" to sort Brexit out
Nor revoking A50, having a UK debate, then resubmitting
- no deal
- May's deal
- Remain
No "managed no deal", no "Labour better deal" & no Norway+
They all require a unilateral EU27 extension of A50 which won't happen
- Revoke A50
- Negotiate an extension for a 2nd Ref
- Negotiate an extension for a GE with an unambiguous Pro Remain Labour or Tory party fighting the election
No other options feasible
The failure of British politics & our media is how much air time we'll waste over the coming months indulging politicians on their fantasy alternatives
End/
