(TEST RESULTS) 108 people took the "alignment test" below. FWIW, here's the final tally:

⚖️🛡️ LAWFUL GOOD (41): 38%
⚖️🔋 LAWFUL NEUTRAL (23): 21%
🔋🛡️NEUTRAL GOOD (22): 20%
🔋🔋 TRUE NEUTRAL (12): 11%
💣🛡️ CHAOTIC GOOD (5): 5%
💣🔋 CHAOTIC NEUTRAL (5): 5%
2/ What I found interesting is how many people who took the test wanted a "chaotic" test result and how *few* got it. Anyway, some good news:

⚖️📛 LAWFUL EVIL (0): 0%
🔋📛 NEUTRAL EVIL (0): 0%
💣📛 CHAOTIC EVIL (0): 0%*

*Donald Trump appears to have a CHAOTIC EVIL (💣📛) ethos.
3/ Our data suggest a plurality of people are LAWFUL GOOD (38%), with roughly equal portions in an adjacent box (NEUTRAL GOOD or LAWFUL NEUTRAL). By the time you get to the next cluster (CHAOTIC GOOD, TRUE NEUTRAL, CHAOTIC NEUTRAL) you're at ~5% to 10%. No one will admit to EVIL.
4/ If the CHAOTIC GOOD percentage had been a tad higher—near 10%—we'd have had four perfect statistical "rings" in our results, with TRUE NEUTRAL and CHAOTIC GOOD at ~10% and CHAOTIC NEUTRAL as a fourth ring at ~5%. Interestingly, a few who got NEUTRAL GOOD expected CHAOTIC GOOD.

(THREAD) A couple days ago, MSNBC's @maddow presented compelling preliminary evidence that Trump gets intelligence and propaganda from Kremlin sources. Tonight I'll add to her report in a significant way by discussing the meeting pictured below. I hope you'll read on and retweet.
1/ VANITY FAIR has credited this feed with being the first to recognize the significance of the March 31, 2016 meeting Trump convened—at the Trump International Hotel DC—of his "National Security Advisory Committee." I can tell you @NatashaBertrand deserves a lot of credit, too.
2/ It was a single line from an article (below) Bertrand published on March 3, 2017 that caused me to spend hundreds of tweets dissecting all aspects of a meeting media had previously thought unimportant.

Trump juxtaposing the shutdown and impeachment is no accident. True or not, it is likely he thinks that the longer the government isn't functioning properly, the longer it takes Democrat-led House committees to do the Trump-Russia investigative work the Republicans refused to do.
2/ Make no mistake: Trump's ambition is to forestall the impeachment question just long enough to have the Republican and Democratic primary processes start in earnest. At that point, he and his lawyers will say that *voters* should be allowed to decide Trump's fate—not Congress.
3/ Trump will only have to convince 34 Senate Republicans to vote against his conviction, so developing a rhetorical argument that says impeachment must not interfere with the right of voters to choose their leaders is incredibly important for Trump. And this argument could work.

I haven't written on the shutdown because in the years I spent negotiating on a daily basis as a defense lawyer, one thing I learned was you can't analyze a negotiation strategy effectively if your negotiating partner is irrational. Trump's shutdown can't be competently analyzed.
2/ In other words, the only analysis of the shutdown worth a damn is an analysis that says Trump's mental and emotional pathologies are dangerous and mean the shutdown could last a few more hours or many months. That's been my perspective from the moment the government shut down.
3/ Trump's shutdown will therefore end whenever his dangerous mental and emotional pathologies permit it to—an unknowable in the equation—or Democrats decide to cave to Trump's instability, which would be just as dangerous a precedent as that instability is in the first instance.

Here's my final tally of how many of the TRC's 94 Calls to Action have been completed over the past 3 years.

At this rate, Canada is set to complete the Calls to Action in approximately 2053.
And for those who might criticize this number, arguing that "it doesn't capture the progress that has been made on so many of the Calls to Action"? The same criticisms were levelled at me last year (and the year before) but the number of completed calls has barely budged.

People typically have high-res models of their own lives and lower-res models of other people’s. We are all born clueless with incredibly low-res models of the world - then we tweak and upgrade our models. Different people do this to different degrees depending on many variables
Cluelessness, innocence, naïveté, privilege - these are all words used to describe the condition of having a flawed and/or low-res model of the world. A child who loses their innocence is forced to develop a higher-res model of some harsh and ugly things
A common source of misunderstanding is as follows: a person experiences an increase in resolution of their own model of something that’s relevant to them. They then make a claim based on that model that extends beyond it. It might seem accurate to them!

So! Let's talk Iran polling real quick. There are two polls out today, from Pew and CNN/SSRS -- both live-caller, done by reputable pollsters. The difference between them illustrates how much wording can matter in situations where most of the public doesn't have strong opinions.
First things first: here's the wording and results of the two surveys. Both are perfectly fair ways of framing a question about the Iran deal, but they're asking fairly different things.
It's also worth noting that neither of these polls gave people an explicit option to say they weren't sure. On the Pew question, which provided less context, more than a quarter of the public volunteered that anyway.
