He was also confident however that we would be completing our first major trade deals 3 months ago, at the latest

They're a bit late

Despite this being illegal in the EU and almost certainly under WTO rules

@DavidDavisMP 4) in fact as we come to the end of negotiations on this stage with the EU, we can look forward to a free trade area twice its size

@DavidDavisMP 5) and of course we wouldn't need the SM & CU because we would have negotiated a deal with the fabled exact same benefits

@DavidDavisMP 6) these are all genuine quotes & they should tell any leave supporter following @DavidDavisMP one key point

Davis knew almost *nothing* about the EU despite campaigning to leave it, and learned very little more when he became Brexit secretary

@DavidDavisMP 7) Fundamental aspects of how trade works in the EU or indeed in WTO simply passed him by.

He literally could not have been more wrong in his predictions and yet today he is confidently putting forward no deal as a safe answer for the Uk

@DavidDavisMP 8) given we are talking about the future of the country this is a man whose lack of knowledge of even the basics is actually dangerous
