Some people wonder what Flynn was covering up by lying to the FBI.
Maybe Flynn was sending a mild signal, "Chill, don't worry about Obama's sanctions," but worried about Logan Act?
But why would he lie later when Trump had openly sent this Dec 30 tweet?
2/ My point is that Flynn had to be covering up something much worse than a Logan Act violation. No one has ever been prosecuted under the Logan Act, and Trump had already crossed that line himself Dec. 30.
So Flynn probably was lying to cover up something much worse.
3/ So what was he telling Russia? What's worse than Logan Act?
Bribery quid pro quo.

In 2005, libertarians were (understandably) outraged by Kelo v. New London for allowing broad govt takings.
2008-16, libertarians warned that Obama abused executive power.
2018: Child cages?

It is politically premature and strategically unwise to call for immediate impeachment proceedings in the House.
A Special Counsel is likely to produce a mix of indictments, criminal information docs, and a report relatively soon.
Why get out ahead of it? 1/
2/ @woodruffbets reports the White House may assert executive privilege to block a report. It's possible Whitaker or Barr might order Mueller not to include any info that they deem privileged in a criminal information doc accompanying new indictments. thedailybeast.com/team-trumps-bl…
3/ Even at that stage, the House committees should use their energy to subpoena such reports, subpoena witnesses, and litigate executive privilege (like US v. Nixon), rather than re-formulate those efforts as premature impeachment proceedings.
