All the actions he took in the video are real. The device is real, the setup is real. There are real thefts and real reactions. It's unfortunate that unbeknownst to Mark, one(?) of the people participating got friends to pretend to steal the device and never told him...
But upon learning this fact, Mark handled the situation in the best possible way - by explaining the issue clearly and REMOVING THE STAGED MOMENTS from the video. In other words, it was always real as far as the creator knew. And now, modified, it remains real...
So exactly how were you "right about this?" You simply saw something cool and complex and instantly doubted it wholesale, purely on a whim, without checking into it. Then, through an extremely unusual coincidence, part of your random suspicion turned out half-right...
If that counts as a skeptical victory, then we could all just go around disbelieving everything 100% of the time and claim to be good critical thinkers whenever that randomly ends up being the case. That's not what skepticism is about....
