Michael Cohen was in Prague summer 2016?
This is potentially a big deal...
"4 people spoke with @mcclatchy on condition of anonymity due to the sensitivity of information shared by their foreign intel connections. Each obtained their info independently from foreign intel." 1/
2/ Why is this a big deal?
The Steele Dossier alleged that Cohen had gone to Prague in Aug or Sept 2016 to meet Russian agents to discuss their hacking conspiracy and to discuss covering it up.
Cohen had vehemently denied *ever* being in Prague.
vox.com/2018/4/13/1723…
3/ Here is Cohen's blanket denial from April, long before he was cooperating.
@mcclatchy quotes Cohen's spokesman Lanny Davis maintaining the denial, but McClatchy also suggests Davis is way out of the loop since Cohen started talking with prosecutors.
4/ @mcclatchy: "Lanny Davis, however, is no longer part of Cohen’s legal team. He acknowledged that he has not been fully briefed on what Cohen has told Mueller’s investigative staff in some 70 hours of interviews dating to last August, when Cohen pleaded guilty."
5/ It would make sense for Mueller/SDNY to keep such damning details quiet, if Cohen had confessed. They'd want to conceal it at least long enough for Trump's written answers.
Well, Trump submitted answers more than a month ago. Bing.
6/ Even if Cohen doesn't confess to the most criminal allegations on Cohen/Prague in the Steele Dossier, if there was any contact between Cohen and a Russia agent, and if they talked hacking, that's a huge step towards bribery/criminal conspiracy.
7/ #SteeleDossier:
"COHEN had been accompanied to Prague by 3 colleagues and the timing of the visit was either in the last week of August or the first week of September. One of their main Russian interlocutors was Oleg SOLODUKHIN operating under Rossotrudnichestvo cover..."
8/ "The agenda [was about] how deniable cash payments were to be made to hackers who had worked in Europe under Kremlin direction against the CLINTON campaign and various contingencies for covering up these operations & Moscow’s secret liaison with the TRUMP team more generally."
9/ Clarifying some ambiguity: @mclatchy should have written: "4 people spoke with @mcclatchy on condition of anonymity due to the sensitivity of information shared by their foreign intel connections. Each *independently* obtained their info from foreign intel."
(A word misplaced)
10/ There you go again, 2018, you crazy years. I guess we need to wait for a real report.
