Sir Louis Odemegwu Ojukwu, the richest black African in the late 1950s & 60s, was the Nigerian Stock Exchange's first President.

He was Col. Ojukwu's dad.

He didn't need official papers to enter the UK due to his wealth, and solely sponsored The Queen's visit to Nigeria in 1956
Sir Louis Ojukwu was the CEO of Ojukwu Transport, Director, Nigerian Coal Corporation, Director, Guiness Nigeria Limited, Director, Nigerian Tobacco Company and Chairman, Costain West Africa. There's still a present court case that involves his wealth.

Sir Louis Ojukwu owned the only Rolls Royce in Nigeria then. His 1952 Rolls-Royce Silver Wraith LWB was used to chauffeur Queen Elizabeth during her 1956 visit.

Alhassan Dantata also invented the Kano Groundnut Pyramids. Each pyramid had 15,000 filled groundnut bags. The Dangote/Dantata family is still the richest clan in Nigeria.
Chief Michael Ibru, Founder of Ibru Foundation (Tourism, Palm Oil, Brewery, Timber and Poultry), transportation company, Rutam & Laibru, went into the frozen fish business in 1957. The Ibru Family is one of the richest in Nigeria. His brother, Felix Ibru was a Governor & Senator.

Moshood Kashimawo Olawale (MKO) Abiola, GCFR, a former President-elect of Nigeria in 1993, was the richest man in Africa from the late 1980s to the early 1990s with an estimated net worth of $5 billion.
MKO Abiola was the Aare Ona Kakanfo of South-West Nigeria. He was a bank clerk with Barclays Bank in Ibadan, worked at the WRFC, a senior accountant at LUTH, worked at Pfizer. He was the Vice President, Africa, Middle East and Chairman of the Nigerian division of ITT Corporation
MKO Abiola was the Founder of Abiola Farms, Abiola Bookshops, Radio Communications Nigeria, Wonder Bakeries, Concord Press, Concord Airlines, Summit Oil International Ltd, Africa Ocean Lines, Habib Bank, Decca W.A. Ltd and Abiola FC. He was the Chairman of G15 Business council.
MKO Abiola was the President of the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE), Patron of the Kwame Nkrumah Foundation, Patron of the WEB Du Bois foundation, Trustee of the Martin Luther King Foundation, and Director of the International Press Institute (IPI).
