Sir Louis Odemegwu Ojukwu, the richest black African in the late 1950s & 60s, was the Nigerian Stock Exchange's first President.

He was Col. Ojukwu's dad.

He didn't need official papers to enter the UK due to his wealth, and solely sponsored The Queen's visit to Nigeria in 1956
Sir Louis Ojukwu was also the CEO of Ojukwu Transport, Director, Nigerian Coal Corporation, Director, Guiness Nigeria Limited, Director, Nigerian Tobacco Company and Chairman, Costain West Africa. There's still a present court case that involves his wealth today.
Antonio Oladeinde Fernandez was said to have a monthly income of $469 million in 2001. He had bank accounts in 7 countries, mansions in over 6. Beef factory in Swaziland, oil fields in Angola, mines in DRC, fleet of luxury cars, 150ft yacht, 6 jets. Shares in 10+ oil companies.
Candido Da Rocha (1860-1959) was the first Millionaire in Nigeria. He was a Businessman, Landowner and Creditor of Brazilian descent. He was was so rich that he sent his dirty clothes to Britain for laundry. People would come crying to him for money, and he'd toss it to them.

Chief Dr. Harry Akande is the founder of AIC Limited, EPDN and former President of NAFTEC,. He is also richest Nigerian before Aliko Dangote and was the former BOT (Board of Trustees) Chairman of Nigeria's former second largest party, APP.
Sir Louis Ojukwu single handedly sponsored Queen Elizabeth II's visit to Nigeria in 1956. He owned the only Rolls Royce in Nigeria then. His 1952 Rolls-Royce Silver Wraith LWB was used to chauffeur her.
Alhassan Dantata, richest person in Nigeria in 1940s & former richest man in West Africa, opened an account with British Bank of West Africa (First Bank) with 20 camel-loads of silver coins in Kano in 1929. His great grand nephew, Aliko Dangote is the World's Richest Black person
Alhassan Dantata also invented the Kano Groundnut Pyramids. Each pyramid had 15,000 filled groundnut bags. The Dangote/Dantata family is still the richest clan in Nigeria.
Chief Michael Ibru, Founder of Ibru Foundation (Tourism, Palm Oil, Brewery, Timber and Poultry), transportation company, Rutam & Laibru, went into the frozen fish business in 1957. The Ibru Family is one of the richest in Nigeria. His brother, Felix Ibru was a Governor & Senator.
The Ibru Foundation is one of the largest conglomerates in Nigeria. In 1990, it had 11,000 employees and is a billion dollar company with investments in shipping, agriculture, aviation, banking, oil and gas, transportation, tourism, production.
