🤯 How to construct a story that makes you money 🤯

When you're writing copy, you must break down the "this is a product pitch" defense mechanism humans have

Guess how you do that?

Storyselling

Read on to discover how I reverse engineered storytelling to create "storyselling"
I often tell you that copywriting is construction, not creativity

But, is there an exception?

If there is, it's the art of storyselling

Storyselling is the format I write my emails in:

*I tell a story
*I relate it to a lesson
*And that lesson relates to my product

Get it?
So, how do you write stories that sell?

The key principle to remember is this: The story helps create a VIVID picture in your reader's mind

If you stop reading right here, you'll have learned enough to improve your copy by remembering that one thing
The story you tell puts the reader in the scene

*They picture themselves using your product
*They picture themselves EXPERIENCING what you are selling
*They picture what they will become after your story is told
*They become the main character of the story
Let me give you an example to help you understand what I mean...

In my emails, I am usually promoting my Copy Kings newsletter

This newsletter equips aspiring copywriters with the skills they need to make big bucks writing words

Sounds simple, right?

But...
My main objective with my emails is to make copywriting a reality to the reader

I must break down their beliefs by telling them stories of how so and so did this one thing and succeeded

Or, I deliver lessons in an easy to understand format making them think, "hm, seems doable"
See how that works?

Good..

Gary Halbert gives us another example I've spoken a lot about recently..

He wrote an ad for a diet book which spoke from an actual users perspective, her name was Betty
Betty spoke to the reader about her story...

A story of failure and success

This makes it entirely believable to the reader

It isn't a doctor or guru telling them what to do

It's a peer telling her story
The reader relates directly to the story and this makes the product become a realistic answer to their problem

"If she did it, why can't I?"

Do you understand how that works?

Good, now here's a checklist for you to bookmark for future use...
Ask these questions before your next ad:

1. Who is the main character of my story?
-How does that character relate to the reader

2. What angle is the character telling the story from?
-Example: I did it and so can you
3. What beliefs does my reader have that I need to break down and replace?
-Example: "I can't make money online"

4. What past failures occurred in the reader's world that I have to overcome?
-Example: Tried every diet under the sun, why would this one work?
Those questions will get your mind tingling with ideas about a killer story and angle

Last thing I ask of you before you go...
