The Green New Deal is a Slogan and is some on the left’s efforts to pretend they invented any work on Climate Change but here is things they could do from my wish list
1. Stabilizing the SREC (solar renewable energy credit) market to operate in more states than just very blue

2. Update the water systems of major cities and counties- this would include cleaning them up.
3. Putting in new impervious surfaces to stop flooding and prevent runoff.
4. Invest in solar farms, wind farms and other green generation. Some times there isn’t enough to buy

5. Do deep energy retrofits ofnlow income housing.
6. Provide low interest loans or no interest loans to businesses that establish proof of concept to sustainable leaning business. Ie someone doing a clothing swap business to promote zero waste initiatives or development etc

7. A new training component for green jobs engaging unions, trade schools and universities to incorporate curriculum from the technical like deep retrofits to the financing
8 incentive fueling companies to adapt quicker conversation of gas stations to supercharging stations. And promote small business ownership of their franchises. If they take fed money they have to provide pathways for small franchise ownership.
9 Higher EV credit on purchasing or leasing of an EV to help build in the market.
Leasing isn’t part of many states current program but leasing is how most younger buy cars.

10. Electrifying mass transit systems across the country. Buses and taxicabs can help bring online charging capacity for a state before mass rollout.
This is my off the top of head wish list. I am sure others can think of more. But right now the Green New Deal is nothing more than a slogan. Why, is that the case? There are many good experts who can flush it out easily.
Don’t worry about who gets credit. We need more than a twitter warrior.
