Susan Collins (Planned Parenthood’s US Senator) already opposed government shutdown 5 days before it began. Pelosi & Democrats can waste time in the House but McConnell will not allow a bill in the Senate that can’t get a signature from President Trump. Dems have ZERO leverage.
President Trump signed Executive Order on January 25 2017 for Border Security invoking Secure Fence Act of 2006 authorizing Homeland Security to allocate federal funds to design-plan-construct a physical wall. Congress must make Appropriations to Build the Wall as permanent law.

House Republicans (Gowdy/Goodlatte) quietly wrote a 7-Page letter on DOJ WITHOUT mentioning Rosenstein threatened Congressional Staff? Didnt Rosenstein LIE under oath to Congress about hiding documents? Horowitz admitted Rosenstein directed him to withhold Strzok-Page text msgs.
Congress has absolute power to compel testimony. TITLE 2 of Congress. Rosenstein does NOT have the right to refuse to testify as Deputy Attorney General. If Rosenstein refuses to testify, throw him in the tank until he does so. Missed Opportunity, Republicans. Thanks Paul Ryan.
House Republicans had Rosenstein in the jaws of life so many times. Rosenstein is NOT above the law. He does not get to violate his loyalty oath, neither does he get to violate 2 USC 192, refusal to testify or produce documents. Inherent Contempt should have been the next step.

On Oct 26 2006 Congress passed The Secure Fence Act 120 STAT. 2638 PUBLIC LAW 109–367 with 283 votes in the House & 80 in the Senate, including unanimous Democratic support. This included $20 billion in funding for multi layer fencing along about 600 miles of the US-Mexico border
This wasn't a solid 600 miles of continuous fencing along the border, this was bits and pieces, mostly erected with surplus Marston Mats used by the Military to laydown in areas that the ground isn't solid enough to handle landing gear, the military has mountains of it.
in 2007 Congress made clear it didn't really mean what it said. The new law was amended to make fence building optional. so you ended up with very little fencing and $20 billion pretty much unaccounted for, dispersed to heavens knows where. No one was held accountable for the $$
