Republican Steve King is trending. Im going to do a quick thread on his rich history of racism. In Oct 2018, he endorsed white supremacist & anti-semite Faith Goldy for Toronto mayor. She attended the Unite the Right rally & promotes the White Genocide conspiracy theory. 1/
In Oct 2018, Steve King defended his association & support of the far-right Austrian Freedom Party, started by a Nazi & whose current leader is popular in neo-Nazi circles. “If they were in America pushing the platform that they push, they would be Republicans,” King said. 2/
In Dec 2017, Steve King tweeted "Diversity is not our strength." He also sahres the quote of Viktor Orban, the anti-Muslim, anti-immigrant, authoritarian leader of Hungary: "Mixing cultures will not lead to a higher quality of life but a lower one.”

3/
In March 2017, Steve King repeated the white supremacist conspiracy theory of the “Great Replacement” (White Genocide) by tweeting “You cannot rebuild your civilization with somebody else's babies.” When asked to apologize, he replied, “I meant exactly what I said.” Lovely.

In 2015, Steve King invited anti-Muslim, far right Dutch politician Geert Wilders to Washington DC to meet a group of conservatives in the House. King agrees with him that non white immigrants can’t be part of White civilization.

5/
In 2013, Steve King said most immigrants were “drug mules" & for every immigrant who becomes a valedictorian “there’s another 100 out there that — they weigh 130 pounds & they’ve got calves the size of cantaloupes b/c they’re hauling 75 pounds of marijuana across the desert.” 6/
In July, 2016 the Des Moines Register reported that Republican Congressman Steve King from Iowa displayed a Confederate flag on his office desk. Iowa was actually part of the Union. But, white supremacists don't let facts, history or geography divide them, you know? 7/
Steve King today asks when did white supremacist & white nationalist become offensive terms? White supremacists agree. The leading white supremacist site in America, The Daily Stormer, wrote he's "basically an open white nationalist at this point" and calls him "our guy." 8/
In conclusion, there's an open white nationalist & white supremacist in Congress who uses his platform to promote racist talking points & conspiracy theories. His name is Steve King. He's a Republican from Iowa. We've all known this. Time to take them literally & seriously. END.
