I'm making a thread of articles that I think are seminal to understanding the crisis we're in, but have largely been played down.

They describe massive and horrific crimes that have been carried out with impunity by people in Trump's camp, often for years or decades.
1. The US Treasury was infiltrated by Russia in 2015 with the active aid of US Treasury officials. The Obama admin knew and did not stop it. The Trump admin is complicit, and treason in the treasury continues under Mnuchin's watch.

2. Black Cube, a brutal private group of Israeli operatives drawn largely from Mossad, has been working with the Trump camp to target former US officials involved in the Iran deal (when not working for predators like Harvey Weinstein)

The Black Cube story is enormous and carries over into the MeToo movement, into the surveillance and intimidation of journalists, and into dirty deals the Trump team made made. Why was it dropped?

3) Jeffrey Epstein case. Epstein is a sex trafficker of underage girls who avoided real punishment. He is tied to Trump, was aided by Trump's labor secretary and by Dershowitz, and was likely procuring blackmail on and for elite criminals

The Epstein case is not new, which makes it all the more horrifying. It's an extremely significant case both on a human rights and on a national security level. On @gaslitnation we discussed Epstein and his connections in detail:
4) Trump was accused of raping a 13-year-old girl procured by Epstein. In November 2016, lawyer Lisa Bloom attempted to represent the victim. After they both got death threats, the press conference and then suit were dropped.

There are many more undercovered stories, but the press seems particularly reluctant to pursue these. Which is not surprising since those who do write about them are threatened.

Why officials also seem reluctant to investigate or prosecute obvious crimes - now there's a story...

The GOP ideology of the 2013 shutdown -- weaken government, deem federal services unnecessary, and ultimately privatize and profit -- has merged with the kleptocratic agenda of a Russian asset who wants to not only destroy federal services, but destroy the US itself.
It's not a shutdown as a means to an end; the shutdown is its own end.

Once again, people are relying on norms and expectations that do not apply to Trump. There is no leverage in poll numbers; this is not about the base. This is not about the wall. This is about the end.

Earlier today I tweeted about how the GOP leadership mirrors that of an apocalyptic cult, most evident in the rapture rhetoric of Pence and Pompeo; in the war thirst mania of Bolton; in the widespread view of suffering as deserved for some and profitable for others...
Trump shares the sadism of the GOP. Where he departs is in the casual terror behind it.

In interviews with Trump going back decades, a recurring theme appears: we're going to die in a nuclear war. Today he has the means to control his fear -- by being the one to push the button.
Trump describes himself as a fatalist, and I get that. I get not seeing the world as good, and assuming people will act terribly if they can, and watching your back.

But I can't grasp wanting this, or enjoying it, and I can't fathom the emptiness and lovelessness of his life.

Keep seeing this ‘No Arrest No Prosecution’ thing, by people who don’t really care for the truth. One of biggest myths of 2018. In every one of these States people have been arrested & are being prosecuted. One example: Zamfara, 117 arrests: google.com/amp/s/www.vang…

I think the starting point for commentary like this is to say that no death of any Nigerian at the hands of bandits & criminals is acceptable or justifiable. Even a single death is one too many. And one of the primary responsibilities of any Govt is security. That’s not in doubt.
So, this matter of ‘No Arrests No Prosecutions.’ It’s very far from true. The simplest of Google searches puts the lie to it.Also the Police regularly put out statements on large-scale arrests. I’ll share more links as part of this thread. This from Kaduna google.com/amp/s/punchng.…

Born into slavery on October 2, 1800, in Southampton County, Virginia, Turner was recorded as "Nat" by Benjamin Turner, the man who held his mother and him as slaves. When Benjamin Turner died in 1810, Nat became the property of Benjamin's son Samuel Turner.
For most of his life he was known as "Nat", but after the 1831 rebellion, he was widely referred to as "Nat Turner". Turner knew little about the background of his father, who was believed to have escaped from slavery when Turner was a young boy.
