Some folks here are making a prediction for tomorrow on the vote - not going to do that other than to say that unless strange amendments distort the results any vote seems likely to see a big defeat... but for what's next... docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d…
What I'd like to see - PM "Clearly this deal does not meet with the approval of the House, my Government will use the next 3 days to outline the different possible ways forward, then invite the House to debate these - though recognising time is short"
What I expect to hear - PM "This deal remains the best deal for the UK, but I will be returning to Brussels this week to seek further assurances from the EU, and will update the House accordingly..."

This probably isn't a time for serious analysis of the UK's options, but given how many people idly talk of EEA, EFTA or Customs Union as options, just a quick overview that you can pretend you knew already.... 1/
European Economic Area = single market, open to members of EU or EFTA - European Free Trade Association. Part of single market, established consultation mechanism, trade agreements through EFTA or independently... 2/
EFTA/EEA (cont)... but Freedom of Movement, helps but may not fully solve Ireland border question, outside of political union. UK was a founder member of EFTA 3/

Too many Brexit inaccuracies this morning. To tackle a handful:-

1/ The EU could reopen the Withdrawal Agreement if the UK indicates a clear preference for the future relationship, like EEA.
2/ No UK-wide Free Trade Agreement is on offer without an Irish backstop...
3/ Extending Article 50 is possible, but the Member States of the EU must agree
4/ The Meaningful Vote would not have been won had ERG MPs voted with the Government, it would have been closer
5/ It is not the job of the EU to decide what is acceptable to the UK Parliament
Sorry to be unclear, these are of course the correct statements, not the inaccuracies to which they respond

To understand where we go from here in Brexit we need to understand where we are. It isn't a pretty picture - thread... 1/
The PM believed she could find a deal that all of her party could support. As per Chequers this was the soft Brexit for frictionless trade combined with the hard Brexit for an independent trade policy. Such a deal almost certainly cannot exist 2/
What we therefore ended up with was neither hard or soft Brexit - but instead put all of the PMs aspirations into the Political Declaration, a document which the EU could only agree to because it was aspirational. The PM sold it as done deal. 3/

1) There’s a lot of BS about @nntaleb’s Black Swan, antifragility & skin in da game. Let’s take the gloves off and get into trouble.
2) When the Swan flew out, it was immediately butchered by imbeciles not understanding that you can’t predict the unpredictable.

That is the point – and an IQ filter NNT himself proly did not expect.
3) In any complex domain – life! – the Blackest Swan is always skulking around the corner. You know it’s coming, but you don’t know what where when. You can't tame what you've never even conceived of.
