This is the only kind of bunk this cretin is capable of spouting to incite unwarranted anger and envy. I bet half of the Top 1% in 2019 weren't even born in 1960 and were raised in middle income households. In America wealth is highly dynamic. You become super-rich by innovating.
Steve Jobs, Bill Gates, Mark Zuckerberg, and myriads others didn't become super-rich by ripping off anyone. They created enormous prosperity for millions of people. But for people like that, the country would be poorer. Who would have noticed if there were no Bernie Sanders?
People like Bernie Sanders prey upon the lesser angels of our nature by creating the impression that there is a static cohort of 'top 1%' who is ripping everybody else off. Top 1% is not fixed cohort. It is a statistical grouping whose members are constantly changing.
It's a sign of greatness of America that the members of the top 1% are not the same decade after decade. Economic disparity between the top 1% and the bottom whatever percent is healthy, so long as the membership of the top 1% keeps changing. That's terrific economic mobility.
