Stay safe! This winter storm is expected to bring up to 24 inches in some regions of the state.

Tractor trailers and buses are banned on much of the Thruway system as of 3pm.

450 Members of National Guard have been activated to assist with storm response.
@NYSDOT is ready to respond with 1,606 large plow trucks including 100 reserve trucks. DOT has:
52 tow plows
326 large loaders
36 snowblowers
19 graders
205 medium duty and pickup trucks with plows
30 tractor trailers
and more than 460,000 tons of salt on hand
@NYSThruway has:
663 supervisors and operators ready to deploy
250 Large Snow Plows
129 Medium Snow Plows
11 Tow Plows and
58 Loaders across the state with more than
125,000 tons of road salt on hand
Keep off the roads unless absolutely necessary to stay safe and allow our plows to do their jobs safely.

The shutdown of the federal government at the hands of President Trump and the Senate Republicans is putting New Yorkers in harm's way and it must end.
2.7 million New Yorkers who depend on SNAP benefits will be impacted beginning February 1 if the government shutdown continues.

Over 16,000 federal workers in New York are furloughed or being asked to work without pay, including TSA agents.
As we begin a new year, we look to the new Democratic-led House, including our terrific New York delegation, to stand up to the division and hate in Washington and fight for our interests and our values.

The Trump travel ban is a gross violation of our American values, and the Supreme Court's ruling along partisan lines does nothing to change that.

This bigoted policy is a thinly veiled attempt to govern by hate and continue the federal government's assault on immigrants.
Just because the Supreme Court says it is legal does not mean it is right.

In New York, we believe our diversity is our greatest strength. We will continue to uphold the values embodied by the Lady in our Harbor and welcome all who seek to become a part of the New York family.

Some Nine World's stuff worthy of a read.
One of the reasons why the 9W stuff is interesting to me is partly due to how it all turned out, what they achieved and the hardships they faced and also partly because I could see Kitacon going the same route and facing the same challenges.
Obviously I'm keen to avoid the pitfalls others have made in order to maintain a strong event and team but I can't help be worried about the geek/nerd communities being swallowed up by non caring events worried only about their bottom line.

What went wrong???? #PennDOT was totally unprepared as was NJ & NYC. Completely unacceptable. All Tractor Trailers need to be banned from the roads when there are storms. All three states, NJ, PA, NY are under Democratic control. They need to get it together before Winter starts!
The Poconos are often ignored but what is becoming more and more prevalent is how many people are being priced out of NYC and move here to the Poconos and commute to work from the Poconos to NY. In the almost three years that we've lived here this has become more the case.
This commute takes people from the Poconos through NJ & into NYC. So these three states need to get it together & work on a snow response so people don't have nightmare commutes via bus or driving. Further how about they work together to bring the NJ Transit back to the Poconos?

1. Wall Street knows the illegal activities committed by FB, Twitter, Google, etc. will soon be exposed. Insiders are dumping their shares before these social media companies "collapse under the weight of their illegal activities."
2. Q told us before that Lisa Page is a "cooperating witness". She was captured by security cameras (NSA intercepted?) in London (with Strzok?), likely taking part in Crossfire Hurricane ops. Exposure of her involvement via these Q drops leaves her no choice but to sing.
3. Strzok was lead investigator for both HRC email/server scandal & Russian collusion. @RepMarkMeadows says they will likely bring him in to answer more questions re: knowledge of Steele dossier.

1) I warned this POS that calls himself the Canadian PM.

I wrote the following a day before the President arrived at the G7:

Justin from Canada 🇨🇦 better be veryyyyyyyyyyyyy careful this weekend! PM Abe is extremely close to our President. He has asked a lot of our President
2) in terms of what Japan 🇯🇵 hopes to get out of the Summit and finalized deal with North Korea 🇰🇵.

Our President continues to bring up the trade deficit with Japan 🇯🇵 every time they are together. At some point in the very near future, PDJT will be presenting PM Abe
3) with a bill that is past due.

There happens to be the fact that currently 40% to 45% of the RAV4s that are imported into our country come through Canada 🇨🇦 thanks to NAFTA. The remaining RAV4s are imported from Japan 🇯🇵. Not a single damn RAV4 is made in our Toyota/Mazda
