1. The Mnangagwa regime’s dishonesty & lack of probity has been on show. One day, the state security minister goes on a rant blaming the MDC & NGOs for violence. The next day, police and military blame criminals who allegedly stole uniforms, deserters & retired officers.
2. Their default setting is to blame the MDC & NGOs. Security minister simply followed this tired script. It was implausible, absurd & laughable. So they came up with another theory - our uniforms were stolen, deserters & retired officers kept uniforms. It’s amateurish & worse.
3. Their theory does not explain how thousands of them ended up with military & police trucks plus guns & ammunition. Did the criminals steal these too? Did retired officers take them home when they left? It’s completely absurd but that’s what makes them a laughing stock.
4. How does ED make a persuasive case to investors when his government can’t communicate a clear, coherent & believable message? How do you win confidence when you make such absurd claims? It’s as if members of the regime are competing to prove that we are a banana republic.
5. The regime has caused untold damage to itself. If anyone gave it credit, it’s now eroded. Far from being a New Dispensation it is performing far worse than the old regime in its vileness & absurdity. It’s one thing to be incompetent. It’s far worse when coupled with dishonesty
