The increasingly prevalent negotiations as war theory in large parts of the Conservative Party. In war you want to defeat the opponent, in negotiations you both need to win so build bridge. Disappointingly naive from @JohnnyMercerUK

If the only negotiating leverage you think you have is to walk away, you don't have much negotiating leverage and you're probably best not even trying. In reality there are things the EU will want from the UK, so we have leverage. But it's easier to yell 'no deal' manically
