“A senior Trump Campaign official *was directed* to contact STONE about any additional releases” seems like a really very notable use of the passive voice.
So... if this was Manafort directing Gates why wouldn’t they just say that? (We also just heard the special counsel prosecutors have no present intention of bringing further charges against Manafort.)

Mueller's team is now about to--or at least has prepared to--engage in a criminal litigation through trial w/ Stone. That alone is a months-long process, and it should lead us to reevaluate the sources who said they were writing a report and getting ready to turn the lights off.
I ran this analysis by Peter Carr to see if he agreed. "I’ll decline to weigh in on that at this time," he says.

Judicial Watch has been quixotically trying to FOIA five memos advising President Obama in the run up to the Bin Laden raid. The DC Circuit says they can't have 'em. cadc.uscourts.gov/internet/opini…
The third memo on that bullet point list interests me most, and awkward as it is I'd suggest congress should find a moment in its busy schedule to hold hearings about what limitations, if any, exist or should exist on the president's power to order extrajudicial killing.
I don't think that's what Judicial Watch has been after tbh, but it's been my hobbyhorse for a long time. This isn't a subject where the Executive Branch should be governed by the secret quasi-law of its own lawyers' memoranda. Congress should do its job.

- Obstruction of an official proceeding
- Five counts of false statements
- Witness tampering
