This is genuinely a great insight into the mind of a conspiracy theorist, as they explain how they came to their conclusion step by step. @gianfiorella actually started @invenezuelablog 5 months before Bellingcat was launched, but some how they think it's a Bellingcat project.
Despite @invenezuelablog being created before Bellingcat, it still didn't stop the usual conspiracy crowd thinking it was all part of some grand scheme by Bellingcat.
Another genius thinks they've uncovered a Bellingcat plot, despite the site being older than Bellingcat, and clearly stating its purpose, and the location of the author, on both the Twitter accounts and About Us section of @invenezuelablog
So having come up with their theories and having spread it among their little Twitter echo chamber, the usual crappy websites start writing about it, and other crappy websites repost those articles, until in the minds of everyone in the echo chamber it becomes a reported fact.
And this is one simple example of how the online community of Bellingcat hating conspiracy theorists fill their brains with their own garbage, which they are convinced is true. Now imagine this happening to them thousands of times, and how messed up that makes them.
