So...Liam Neeson really decided to just blow up his career by admitting he once wanted (and actually walked around w/ a crowbar!) to murder a Black man, any Black man.

And he did it while promoting another one of his old white man gets revenge movies.

Amazing.

ALso, Liam Neeson says he felt a lot of shame around wanting to get revenge on ANY Black man who would've "had a go at him" after his friend was allegedly raped by a Black man...but he walked around FOR A WEEK w/ a crowbar. What would've happened if some man HAD bumped into him?
In that week, he could have harmed an innocent person because he was mad at some phantom Black man that his friend never named. Thankfully, the men he came across while he carried around his "cosh" (crowbar) ignored him and were not attacked.

In 2015, there were approximately 615,000 Black undocumented immigrants in the U.S.

I saw Green Book back in August, so it's interesting to read everybody's takes now. It's also equally interesting to see Universal push it so heavy for awards season.
#GreenBookMovie's original sin is the title. There's literally NO reason for it to be called Green Book in the first place AND that sets it up for failure b/c audiences will expect a film about the The Negro Motorist Green Book. It's not.
The second biggest flaw is that while it may be based on a true story, it's written like the screenwriter doesn't actually know any Black people besides Don Shirley (Mahershala's character), who admits his Black experience has been atypical.

Men over a certain age in our culture were taught all their lives to direct their emotions into a couple of stock responses, mostly not involving expression of those emotions.

So his reaction to his friend's trauma was understandably strong, and also was misdirected by our modern standards.
In the wake of any attack, we try to identify the threat so we can guard against it or neutralize it. Trying to game it out also is part of the grief process.

Some articles were written about Louis CK, people agreed he was an asshole, a distributor dropped his creepy Woody Allen pedophile fan film, and then he went home and lived extremely comfortably.

Someone explain to me where in there he "served time."
And in all this no one wants to talk about the female comics whose careers he stunted by forcing himself upon as a sexual abuser. Funny how men aren't up in arms about their careers.
Entertainment careers are fucking hard to come by. If you get a successful one, you beat the long, long odds. You won the lottery.

Where is it written that if you blow up that career that you deserve it back after 6 months of laying low?

This evening I was waiting for a bus home and it was about a 15 min wait, with drunk folk about, so I had my headphones on, & was staring at my shoes.

An older, clearly drunk man at the bus stop decided to feel me up, and no one else said anything.
He put his arm around me first, then tried to slide it down so he could grab my bum. He was speaking as well but I had my headphones on so I couldn’t hear. There were about 10-15 other people at the bus stop, so I quickly stepped away from him and moved as far away as possible.
A minute or so passed and then he came over and started putting his hands on my arm while saying things like “I didn’t mean to offend you” and stuff. I ignored him and kept stepping away, and he got really angry and began shouting at me.

No one did anything at all.

No joke: Bannon was SALIVATING at the thought of getting into the White House & then using Trump to actually EXPAND on all of Obama's constitutional power grabs & abuses. And then using all that naked power to blow everything up.
And then once Trump's team was assembled and they assumed office, Bannon realized too many of Trump's other advisors didn't SHARE his goal of completely destroying the Constitutional framework of our Republic.

They didn't want to EXPAND & USE Obama's abuses of power.
So Bannon set about trying to undermine Trump's other strategists & advisors by leaking/planting stories in the media about how they were all Establishment Deep State traitors out to undermine & destroy Trump's agenda.

And this bullshit went on for MONTHS.
