Yesterday my new D&D group learned that there is nothing I like better than cackling maniacally while improvising ways to do massive damage with fire-based cantrips, and honestly, I don't think any of them were surprised.
Also all my spells are cast in Infernal so no one will realize that I'm basically just a cheerleader for Team Everything Is On Fire Again.
The best thing about D&D being massively popular again is that suddenly when you mention your game, everyone goes TELL ME ABOUT YOUR CHARACTER, OMG YOU PLAY THAT'S AMAZING, and it's basically the Avalon my teenage heart imagined.
(The worst thing is the tiny sub-set of everyone who goes "you just like D&D because it's COOL," and it's like...buddy. I sort of wish that were true, because it might mean I stopped trying to apply AD&D 2nd ed rules to my 5th ed campaign.)

I'm awake and that's awful.
To make it clear for those not in my time zone: I'm awake at 3am, and that's what's awful about it.
In about :45, Mom and I will get into the car and begin creeping down the iced-over hill between us and the highway. If we reach the bottom, I go to Denver. If we end up in a ditch, I don't.

The best career advice I ever received--not writing advice, of which I have received roughly a metric shitton, but "how to survive as a working writer" advice--came from Todd McCaffrey the first time we met at a con.
I was a brand-new baby writer with stars in my eyes and ARCs (not even finished copies) of ROSEMARY AND RUE in my hot little hands. I gave him one to give to his mother (HE DID IT!!!) and asked if there was anything he wished he'd known.
"Yes," he said, with all the gravity of someone who'd been around long enough to have regrets. "Don't quit your day job until you're sure you can survive off of your royalties."

Basajo is aged in wine barrels, and topped with crushed sweet wine grapes.
It's good on its own, or with fruit and chicken.

Is it seriously necessary to explain this? Here, let me try the Socratic method: ask yourself what would happen to the makers of a comparable ad encouraging blacks to avoid crime or Muslims to avoid terrorism.
Nothing wrong with the messages in any of those ads, right? Of COURSE men shouldn't be bullies, blacks shouldn't be criminals, and Muslims shouldn't be terrorists. Who could object to such positive and socially responsible messaging? What law-abiding soul would feel insulted?
Naturally, we all know the pillars of Heaven would be shaken by the outrage if any such collective insinuation of guilt was made about any group except men, and the Gillette ad is carefully designed to make it look like white men specifically are the problem.

1/ Been talking about my vision for a systematic VC fund. Think Renaissance Technologies in the private markets. Here is initial strawman of how it could work. Flow her is industry->tech->outreach->validation-> negotiation->close->post close.

Don’t have all the answers.
2/ Starts w/ stage & industry. Cant have too much competition (not tech b/c 1k vc firms), must have large mkt, enough data (not seed stage), biz models largely standardized so you can generalize training data.
CPG perfect. $15T industry few active VCs.
3/ Need small Information Advantage (IA) + Large Sample (N). IA won't be perfect so must spread out over large population. Said differently- predictions won't be guaranteed, so need to make a lot of bets to capture the value of the IA.

1) Grudgingly now, the conservative media beginning to realize that Congress has no power to compel DOJ to do anything, claiming "only Ryan or Trump" can free up the documents.

No.

Only Trump. Ryan has no power.
2) Congress has only to means of control involving vaunted "oversight" Goodlatte, Nunes, and others keep babbling about. The first is, they can impeach--a 7 step process that requires the Senate CONVICT (anyone here think that's likely?).
2) Impeachment would take about 7-9 months. Who do you remove? RR? Chances are there is someone worse in the wings.

An "impeach-lite" scenario might be "Contempt of Congress" like they did for Holder.

How'd that work out? Oh wait, send the Sgt at Arms to arrest.
