Came home.
Puppy is no where to be found. Cricket is trotting around with a toy, looking very happy.
I frantically search house, yelling for Sonny. Nothing.
Cricket looks unphased. Rolls on back looking for belly rub.
I am stressing trying to figure out what to do next.
OMG
It’s been several minutes. I hear a faint cry.

He’s trapped in the former cat room (Spare room)

They somehow opened the door (it was closed for sure) & he got shut in there.

He spent next 5 min going after her.

Something went down today.
If only I’d installed the camera 😐
I’ll be over here in the corner recovering from my anxiety/heart attack.

So yesterday I took Little to a STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) activity put on by @BBBSCalgary. I was so impressed by the experience and here’s why:
The volunteers brought in to do three experiments with us were amazing. Three engineers (chemical and electrical I believe). They were funny, down to earth, hilarious, engaging and smart. We learned about forensics, food chemistry and extracted the DNA from strawberries.
All three engineers were also women. They were young, cool and “hip”. It was wonderful to see several tween girls (and one boy) meet female role models and learn from them like that.

We had to bring it with us or there’d be trouble.

Same couch, different dogs, different houses.
My Mom’s reaction to Sonny being on the couch here would be similar to when Ike was on it at hers:
“I don’t appreciate dogs on my couch but he’s my grand dog so it’s ok.”

I have informed Sonny she’ll haunt him though if he chews it
Also, same couch, a totally different house, many many more moons ago. Couch was reupholstered in the late 90s, but it’s existence predates me by about 6 years. I think it’s almost 50.
I think it has lasted so long because it was always a “living room” couch meaning only the finest of company could sit on it longer than 10 min. And that didn’t include unsupervised children or pets. Most of the time it sat in an unoccupied room. 🤷🏼‍♀️

Jimin wouldn’t allow himself to be trapped on his shift for any longer than necessary.

“Go, go,” Taehyung hurried, taking Jimin’s apron to let him slip out from behind the counter more quickly. Jimin decided he could get the grounds out from under his nails at home.
This morning had been absolute hell. Two girls ordered seven drinks, Jimin made them all only for them to say they were supposed to be with almond milk.

‘Oh I’m so sorry,’ was he all he had legally been allowed to say at the time, while his mind had far more colorful ideas.
With Jimin officially clocked out, he slumped on the customer side of the now empty service counter, looking to his friend with tired eyes.

“You wanna grab dinner later?”
“I can’t, remem—?
“Ah, right...”

Jimin’s disappointment vanished as Taehyung suddenly smiled to himself.
