1/ one of the main reasons I stayed a US television writer is that when I went back to Canada, with 70-something produced episodes under my belt, with a pitch starring a Canadian comic & with US guest star for financing, the CBC looked at me like I'd broken into their kitchen.
2/ Its no coincidence that both LETTERKENNEY and TRAILER PARK BOYS were made well outside of the establishment, and both are Canadian as hell.
3/ I'm a Canadian citizen and I value Canada's culture and politics as, to some degree, my ideal. And the plural of anecdote is not data. But man, centrally planning culture is not optimal.
4/ and both @BrentButt and @someMarkFarrell or anyone else who managed to plow that field can step in and smack me around here if they feel I'm being unfair. They know better.
