In the interest of self care, I outlined my greatest fear about #2020 in @thehill today.

TL;DR --> Dems are starting 2020 at a huge digital disadvantage. If we don't invest in smart digital infrastructure for the general NOW, it could be ours to lose.

As Dems kick off an exciting but crowded primary season that will soak up time + resources, Trump's team continues to smartly leverage digital channels to define, spin + own the media narrative and is investing heavily in growing, exciting + fundraising off of his base online.
Trump's team is consistently outspending Democrats online each week & building massive campaign lists in the process that they’ll be able to leverage now through the general. (Read more about this + follow our coverage of weekly digital spending trends-> anotheracronym.org/fwiw/)
If we're serious about taking back the White House, it's not enough to invest more in digital advertising as an add-on to TV budgets. We have to rethink how we build our teams, our budgets + we need to infuse digital capacity + strategies into EVERYTHING we do to reach voters.
Presidential campaigns need to see digital outreach as more than just a way to raise money (impt!), but as a strategy to build networks of organizers + supporters who will amplify their message. *Read more on this from @gretacarnes + @dambrampresents here: anotheracronym.org/how-to-win-the…
We can't wait until the primaries are over to invest in this. While primary candidates focus on building their own lists + telling their stories over the year +, @anotheracronym is focused on building the digital tools, strategies + capacity whoever wins will need to win in 2020.
