Enough is enough! Laundry list of what US lobbyists are demanding before any UK trade deal reads like a horror film.

No prize is worth that level of damage. It's just not. So we should forget about ever doing our own trade deal with the US. Perhaps the EU's immeasurably stronger negotiating power would be able to whittle down the list to something bearable. But us? Never in a million years!
But if you accept that reasoning (as any rational person should) that makes leaving the EU to pursue our own trade policy even more absurd. Japan's done a huge trade deal. With USA out of the picture, what's left? China? Are they going to flip over and let us tickle their tummy?
Seems mighty unlikely. Look down the list of candidates. All the other major economies either already have EU trade deals, trade facilitiation arrangements, or are actively negotiating them with the EU.
