Stuff like that's been going on for 3 years & it doesn't just stay online. It's led to 2 convictions for people associated with Labour, its a big part of why she needed police protection & why she is critical of the leadership who have done nothing to support her or stop it.

If you don't support the mass protests in Venezuela today and the requests of all the other millions of people who want rid of an undemocratically elected dictator then, Jeremy Corbyn, you are the oppressor.
If you're happy to remove the agency from millions of ordinary Venezuelans (and Syrians) who simply want a better lot in life because of some outdated, warped version of anti-imperialism, then you are the oppressor.
If you encourage the outside world to ignore Venezuela, leaving violent insurrection the only option avialable to the people but you're pacificism would preclude you from even supporting that - then you are very much the oppressor.

Final thought on Bastani: clearly bits of original thread are flimsy, one tweet in particular, but if the guy hadn't engaged in activities including, but not limited to, whitewashing a dossier of antisemitic hate-crimes by blaming the media - it wouldn't have mattered.
To put that in perspective: the dossier revealed a Jewish Lab MP had credible threats made against her from a member which had been sat on.

Skwawkbox, whose whitewash Aaron supported - was in the middle of conducting a vile campaign against the SAME Jewish MP on the basis --->
...that she didn't need police protection at Lab conference and no threats made from people associated with Labour.

How sick and depraved is that? When Skwawkbox carried on the campaign against her AFTER they'd read the dossier. Even inferring she deserved deselection.

All the guff thrown at JK Rowling for her ode justifies every syllable. A snake eating its own tail.

Non-Jewish people offended (I'm SO offended) by her so-called "philosemitism" only validates her position

Of course they know better than those isolated, othered Jews, abandoned by the anti-racist movement, doomed to be punished for the Left's irrational hatreds.
If Jews appreciate Rowling's solidarity well... they're being duped, silly Jews. "Why can't you see through her and anyway don't you know there's antisemitism everywhere? Not just on the left. This only serves to undermine the real fight against antisemitism."

Asa Winstanley's piece about "fake Labour accounts" that push #antisemitism to discredit the party has been widely shared. I don't doubt that goes on and state actors are most likely involved, but Asa's article seems to be a big hit with people who actually do hold a/s views. /1
These people, many Labour members, seem oblivious to the irony of blaming anonymous trolls, presumably acting on behalf of Israel or the Tories, for spreading antisemitic poison that they themselves regularly promote. One such character is Charles Chiverton of Mansfield CLP. /2

Momentum have made a video about #antisemitism on the left. It's good that they've tried and the examples of antisemitic tropes are familiar enough. But there's a few revealing problems with this video... /1
Firstly and most obviously, claiming that Corbyn is a perfect example of how to listen to the Jewish community and oppose antisemitism is - what's the word - IRONIC. I think. /2
Secondly, 'don't be antisemitic to me because I'm a good Jew who boycotts Israeli goods' kind of misses the point. /3

#AntiSemitism emerges strongly when a civilization is in decline. It's like clockwork. This is not new—we've been seeing it for 2,000 years. We each need to ask ourselves how we may have contributed to our own self-destruction, and make the radical choice to love our neighbor.
The reason for this emergence is that when a culture is in decline, from fear, citizens refuse to look at their own contribution, and therefore must externally displace blame. Seeing it in almost every tweet about this evil shooting. Germany didn't get there in a vacuum; nor we.
Every case of Jew-hatred we see, from Charlottesville to Pittsburgh, is a symptom of our crumbling demise. It knows no political party; this hatred is systemic and murderous and we don't fight it with more rage. We fight it with love—getting in each other's lives in radical love.

If you're fucking sick of hearing so much about left-wing antisemitism, think how fucking tired its victims are of being on the receiving fucking end of it.
And if you think complaints about left-wing antisemitism are part of some kind of conspiracy to cover up complaints of other kinds of racism or forms of bigotry, guess what, you sound pretty indistinguishable from an antisemite, however "woke" you are.
Absolutely true that antisemitism isn't the only form of bigotry or hypocrisy on the left - various people &/or publications decry some kinds of antisemitism but not others, or are actively transphobic or racist in other ways. That's not an excuse to be same.
