Gutwrenching. Marvin spent 11 months on Rikers. For drug possession. Prosecutors withheld the most critical piece of evidence-the drug lab-from start to finish. NY law *allowed them* to do this. The pressure to plead got the better of him. Guess who doesn’t want law changed? DAs.
Akeem. Wrongfully accused. 9 months on Rikers while prosecutor withheld video evidence that ultimately helped win his case. The person on video not him. This couldn’t have happened in rest of country. But *NY law* allowed this. Guess who’s fighting against change? NY prosecutors.
Heart hurts. Meet Craig. While ultimately acquitted, late disclosure of evidence *allowed by NY law* kept him detained for close to a year. Separated from daughter. Failed school. Rest of the country has fairer evidence laws. But NY DAs are fighting to maintain this injustice.

Proposed legislation already addresses prosecutor claimed concerns: “To answer prosecutors’ fears that new rules will enable rampant intimidation of witnesses, prosecutors would be able to demonstrate potential harm & petition a judge to allow them to withhold certain evidence.”
Daily News ends by telling NY prosecutors literally to put up or shut up: “If the DAs have specific legislative language to modify the legislation, let’s see it. But the time has come to level the legal playing field.”

I’m enraged. We’re so close to passing common sense, long overdue reform *already adopted & working in rest of the country.* Then last minute, NY prosecutors waltz in w/ the same old, tired scare tactics DEBUNKED by prosecutors & experience nationwide, & NY lawmakers now hedging.
People keep asking me how it’s possible that NY still has the worst evidence laws in country. Laws which deny defendants access to all information until day of trial. “It doesn’t make sense.” The answer is simple: NY prosectors & their cynical desire to win at all costs.
Serious question: When will lawmakers stop listening to prosecutors at expense of every one else, including nationwide prosecutors? Can’t trust bailbondsmen on bail policy. Can’t trust private prisons on jail. Why trust DAs in state w/ 2d highest rate of wrongful convictions?

Ok, it's time now for a thread I've been waiting months to write.

I am going to clear my good name against the allegations that I committed perjury, falsely called in a police report, or otherwise committed any crime against Chris Cantwell.
Nothing in this thread shall be interpreted as an attempt to contact Chris Cantwell. I am not writing this thread with the intention of engaging him. I will not be looking at his blogs or other social media sites to see his response. I am doing this to reaffirm my reputation.
This thread will proceed in steps to establish:

1. I was pepper sprayed by him;
2. He lied about it, possibly obstructing justice or committing perjury;
3. His allegations of perjury were based on nonsensical evidence;
4. His claim of a false police report at Walmart are bunk;

PWDV Act, 2005, gives a broad definition of what qualifies as ‘domestic abuse’. It includes physical, sexual, verbal, emotional and economic abuse. Section 3 reads:
The Act provides for a ‘Protection Officer’ to help you through various processes under the law. This Officer can help you file the complaint, tell you about your rights, make an application to the Magistrate for you, etc.

(1) Today I'm celebrating the best Easter in my 48 years on this earth.

And I'm not even a Christian. But I'll tell you why I'm so grateful for the life and death of Jesus Christ, and those who follow him today, especially those in the USA.
(2) Some years ago I came across the online atheist community, and became very interested in their views and practices. During that time I opened this Twitter account, as a way to connect to that community. I keep the account bc changing the username is too much of a hassle now.
(3) I don't support the practice of assuming a person's beliefs and labeling them according to their Twitter username. I'm an agnostic, not an atheist. I don't believe in God, but I never rule anything out. Atheist SJWs are some of the biggest bullies online.
