2. Don’t wait to be given permission or invited to make change happen. You might feel like you’re being pushy. That’s OK. #SystemsChangers
3. Get really curious about the system you’re in. Keep questioning it. You might start to feel awkward and annoying, but don’t let that stop you. #SystemsChangers
4. Experience the system from different perspectives. Step into the shoes of others whether through shadowing/ research/ role-play/ creative tools etc. #SystemsChangers
5. Language matters. Develop tools to help people understand the language/ metaphors/ narratives they use and the impact this has. Then help them think about the impact they’d like their words to have and work backwards from there. #SystemsChangers
6. Don’t wait until you feel ready to start experimenting. You’ll probably feel like you’re on the back foot a lot of the time. This comes with the territory and doesn’t mean you’re doing anything wrong #systemschangers
7. Don’t wait until you’ve got it all figured out to start sharing what you’re learning. Share the journey. #SystemsChangers
8. In this work you may yo-yo emotionally: from feeling excited, full of dynamism & hope; to feeling overwhelmed and despondent. Again, this comes with the territory. It doesn’t mean you‘re doing anything wrong. Find ways to ground and support yourself and each other.
9. The ‘old’ system will constantly be pulling you back and sending out antibodies, so sometimes it will feel like nothing is changing and you’re walking through mud. This is tough, but again it comes with the territory & doesn’t mean you are doing anything wrong. #systemschange
