Chicken Noodle Soup is a very personal and special song for both j-hope and j-hope stans. It had huge organic success and made history several times over, but it is more than simply a hit song. It is a song that j-hope had been wanting to remake for years as a tribute, (1/11)
a love note to his personal history, to the song that reminds him of how it all began for him, of his first love dance, of his home and childhood, it was a song he was determined to make happen despite setbacks and things falling through more than once, (2/11)
he never gave up on it. He knew exactly what he wanted to do with it, how he wanted to present it, what he wanted to say with it. j-hope has said how he doesn't show us his most inner feelings and worries often, some of the few times he has was related to CNS, (3/11)

ATTN #CBD stakeholders: @US_FDA today holding scientific conf. on CBD/other #cannabinoids. I'll be live tweeting throughout. Not sure we'll get much insight on immediate path forward for consumer products but I'll share noteworthy observations. Agenda:
I'll be paying particular attention to @DrAbernethyFDA's remarks at 9:05a (head of #FDA's #CBD Policy Working Group) and @DThrockmortonMD's keynote at 9:15a (one of Agency's principals for regulating R&D, manufacture & marketing of #cannabis & cannabis-derived #drug products).
And we're underway! First up is Kaveeta Vasisht, MD, PharmD. Associate Commissioner for Women’s

Corero #CNS have sorted out their website now or at least the malware is a little more subtle - so here briefly is what they do and why I think this may be a pretty interesting UK GARP stock
Just the one tweet on what they do because, computers:

It's on-premises DDoS protection - Corero equipment (powered by $JNPR's MX - important) sits at the edge of the network, inspects and mitigates attacks.

Anything less than 10GB is dealt with locally. More, goes to cloud
Why they're interesting is essentially that there has been quite a sudden step change in their performance.

What's up with $SGMO valuation? This thread will try to show some history and the setup for what I still hope to be an outsized move. First worth noting that news will always trump technicals. First here is a month chart I've been using for the company 1/
This being a 10 year chart, it doesn't show how long $SGMO has been around but it does show virtually no trading volume and a 3 yr ceiling on the price as they were in early development stage while trying to get ill-chosen indications into pre/clinic 2/
The first wave $SGMO rally started in 2013 when the ceiling was broken. The company was talking up #GeneEditing #GeneRegulation #HIVcure and #diabetes None were ready but the volume picked up and the first big rally ensued going from around $9 to $20 3/

If you really want to make a change in the world, do something hard like #nonviolent #resistance. Read up and learn #satyagraha or change. It takes #strength & #courage; physical force is forbidden even in the so-called most favorable circumstances.…
If your cause is #righteous, Gandhi believed, the movement would speak for itself.

My personal justification for it is #psychological/#neurological (#CNS/#HPA).

If you use #violence, well the one with the biggest #ego or the biggest ego-extension (guns, tanks, war) will win.
Removing tools of violence (words, arms) from the equation, you form a mirror.

It's not easy though. You'd have to refine/drop/manage/elevate past your own #ego.

People - depending on personal history & psychology - sometimes become enraged at what they see in the #mirror.

Awesome study used mice + human brain organiod model to show #COVID-19 can infect the CNS/#brain, where it specifically infected radial #glia, neural stem cells + #neurons. The #virus altered the #metabolism of the neurons it infected + cld use neuron cell machinery to replicate
2/ It’s not surprising that #COVID-19 can infect neurons given the nasal cavity is connected to the #CNS via the cribriform plate, olfactory epithelium + #nerve. This led the team to state that “the brain should be considered a high-risk organ system upon #respiratory exposure”
3/ The team also showed that, at least in some #COVID-19 patients w/ #neurological symptoms, there is a robust antibody response to the #virus in the #cerebrospinal fluid (CSF). In fact, CSF-containing antiviral #antibodies blocked COVID-19 infection in brain organoids

Why is #asymptomatic spread important? Well today I was thinking about #polio virus. It was very #contagious, but 95% of people had no symptoms but were still infectious. About 4-5% of people had minor illness: fever, headache, nausea, vomiting, weakness. #SARSCoV2 #COVIDー19
2/ About 1-2% of people had severe muscle pain, and stiffness in the neck and back. <1% of cases resulted in #paralysis including the legs and the nerves controlling breathing and swallowing necessitating use of the iron lung #ventilators. #Polio could attack the #CNS.
3/ At its peak in 1952, more than 21,000 #Americans contracted a paralyzing form of #polio, and 3,000 died from it. Once infected, there was no treatment besides time and tending to the symptoms. Interestingly, polio mostly attacked young children under age 5.

1/ THREAD 7: Viral Latency and a Hematogenous Route to CNS?

Is it even conceivable that #SARSCoV2 could establish latency in sensory ganglia (like trigeminal ganglia in HSV1) and reactivate to cause recurrent disease as respiratory droplets could enter the eyes, nose, and mouth?
2/ Specifically, talking about the peripheral nerves of the eyes, nose and mouth here. And thinking along the lines of why clinicians are seeing the loss of smell and altered taste in so many patients. Please remember, I am not a #virologist or an infectious disease specialist!
Both the American Academy of Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery AAO-HNS and ENTUK have classified loss of smell and altered taste as significant symptoms in #COVID19. #Covid19UK……

2/ A #multipronged attack could potentially explain the severity and extensive variety of the signs and symptoms in patients with #COVID19. So, is the lung a tactical feint by #SARSCoV2?

3/ Regardless of your current specialty in #surgery or #medicine, the reality is that #SARSCoV2 and #COVIDー19 will affect us all. The sub-specialization of medicine has siloed #healthcareprofessionals, preventing us from seeing the true scope and complexity of this #pathogen.

A prominent theory in #neuroscience hypothesizes that the #CNS generates muscle activity to simplify #motorcontrol, so that muscles with similar task actions are controlled as a single functional unit. Our results do not support this hypothesis! A thread.…
This theory predicts that correlations between muscles that have consistent task actions (e.g. the vastii muscles, VM, VL and VI) should be equally strong, and stronger than their correlations with task-inconsistent muscles (e.g. RF, that extends the knee and flexes the hip).
Alternatively correlations among quadriceps muscles may reflect the need to balance mediolateral (ml) forces on the patella, so that VM and VL (that have opposite ml action on the patella) are more correlated than any other muscle pair (RF and VI produce no ml patellar forces).

I study the illness #ME/CFS - a neuroinflammatory condition that usually begins w/ a #viral infection (sometimes a #respiratory infection!). I have argued for years that infecting #pathogens tied to the illness might persist in the central nervous system (CNS) of such patients
2/ While I realize this article is talking about acute #infection and #COVID19 - it explains that #SARS-CoV-2 “might infect neurons, raising questions about whether there could be effects on the brain that play a role in patients’ deaths:”…
3/ Matt Anderson, (one of my favorite Beth Israel pathologists!) states, “Some of the purely respiratory symptoms that you might attribute to the #disease, the inability to get air into the #lungs, might actually be defects in #respiration controlled by the #nervous system.”

Fam! We hope y'all are doing great.

We're sorry for not posting any thread yesterday. We had a little issue but it's resolved now.

It's Day 4 of our #CancerAwareness thread. We've learnt what cancer is and how it grows.

We've also learnt about the types of tumours and today...
We'll be talking about the different types of cancer.

There are five main types of cancer ♋ but do you know what determines the types? The cells in which they grow.
Don't get it twisted. This is different from the types of tumours we talked about earlier.

1. Carcinoma.

This type of cancer starts in the epithelial cells (this is the layer of cells that protects🛡️organs). Carcinomas may invade ☠️ other tissues and organs and move to the lymph nodes and other areas of the body. This invasion is known as metastasis.
