I've updated yesterday's post on Sean Hannity's U-turn on the budget deal with the NY Times report that the White House reached out to him, as well as some notes on what Lou Dobbs has been up to. mediamatters.org/blog/2019/02/1…
Dobbs, unlike Hannity, had sharply criticized Trump after he caved on the shutdown. But after a call from the White House, he's attacked the compromise but not Trump, and said that even if Trump signs it, he will definitely get the wall built.
Notably, both Dobbs and Hannity have left Trump space to renounce the compromise at the last minute by stressing that the bill could contain “monstrous traps” or a “poison pill” that the president might find unacceptable.
Uh... don't look now, but here's another Fox host, Laura Ingraham, making the case that the bill DOES have such a poison pill and Trump should veto it...
