Last night, a federal judge ruled that Paul Manafort lied to investigators about his meeting with a Russian agent. Why would he lie about that after he had already received a deal for his cooperation? npr.org/2019/02/13/694…

That suggests Manafort thought his lies weren't just helping himself, but that they would get Trump's attention and approval—if not because lying helped Trump obstruct the investigation, then at least because it showed Manafort's loyalty. cnn.com/2019/02/13/pol…
