Someone said he's voting Atiku because "Atiku go drop money for street". Let me try to explain the stupidity in that.
It's true that corruption puts money on the "streets" that people don't have to work hard for. But everyone begins to become a government to themselves.
It's true that corruption puts money on the "streets" that people don't have to work hard for. But everyone begins to become a government to themselves.
They pay for their own power (generator), water (borehole), their own security, roads on their street are poor, the health facilities are poor, so only those who can afford it go "abroad" for medical treatment.
Guess what? All these are responsibilities of government to tax paying citizens. So where does PDP get money to "drop on the streets" through corruption? They take money that is meant for building infrastructure and share to their "friends".
These monies never get to the poor. The only way for the poor to get a taste of government is infrastructure. This creates also a way for them to make their own proud earned money. The "fantastically corrupt" rich class have no need of infrastructure. They can always fly out.
Back to the dude wants to vote Atiku. He does not know corruption is the reason his uncle died of a road accident because the road was bad, emergency services were poor and the hospital could not treat him.
This elections are not just about Buhari and Atiku. They are an opportunity to say loud and clear what kind of country we want for ourselves. To build Nigeria or share the resources that should be used to build Nigeria.
To fight terrorism or share the money meant for it (Dasuki gate should ring a bell). To pay people their pension or share their money with people who already do not need it.
Buhari is the way forward today. Buhari means business with Nigeria.
