Let INEC sort out their logistic issues. The materials distributed to the states are secure for the now in the CBN vaults. If logistic issues are not adequately sorted there might be issues in transit. I stand with Prof Mahmoud at this difficult time. #NigeriaDecides2019
I appreciate the resilience of the INEC chair whose efforts are being undermined if not sabotaged cum compromised by internal & external forces that wish to force a staggered election against section 132(4) CFRN which makes the country a single constituency for presidential poll.
It is no longer news that over 10,000 Card readers have been destroyed by fire across the states. Thank God for spares that would need reconfiguration as replacements, this will take days to sort & the postponement will allow for the effective harmonization of this.
If the INEC chair had capitulated, we would have had a heavily militarized staggered election (Osun type) that will only spell doom for our democracy. But now INEC can focus on their logistics and deficits to ensure we have a poll we all can be proud of. The desperadoes failed.
I reiterate : The materials have been recalled across the states. They are all in transit to the CBN if not there already. There is a process and all party agents are privy to this and would verify the integrity of the materials with a sign off. This is the process.
It is our socio-Political culture to always have someone to punish or hate when things don’t go right. I will not join the mob as always and will stand by the truth. It could have been worse. Hold the INEC chair responsible with understanding. He is accountable no doubt.
Distinguished, Plans are nothing...Planning is everything. In a country like NIGERIA with self immolating seismic socio-political activities, you can’t be religious with your plans but strategically act proactively.
I however must recommend that @inecnigeria relieves whosoever that is in charge of the YouthCorpers. The inhumane condition they had been subjected to is unforgivable. This must be addressed & corrected within the buffer period. This is unacceptable by all standard. @AMADICHIMA
Needless to say that INEC should realize that a lot will be riding on political will right about now especially in an engagement age. They shouldn’t only disseminates information but be emotionally intelligent enough to engage the public. Trust mustn’t be breached.
The Chair should identify cum empathize with Nigerians on the inconveniences the postponement may have caused us all. Those angered by his resilience will want to make him the man to hate especially with a video of his assertion on no foreseeable postponement.
Nigerians will always want someone to hate or punish when things don’t go as planned and this admin knows how to direct the discontent to favor their resolve. But I plead with Nigerians not to be swayed by their emotions right now. This has never worked for us. #Patience
I appeal in my personal capacity to all Youth Corpers to see this as one of the sacrifices made for our Nationhood. You are All Heroes and no one can take that from you. Let’s soldier on and in the end we will reap the benefits. INEC will make it up to you guys. #Cheers
