What if the immature and unimaginative worldview was the one that instinctively rolled its eyes at the very idea of a world at peace, what then.
What if the reason people create brokenness—within ourselves and without—is because we never even try for peace, having determined to cling to a comfortable fear rather than hope for a dangerous love? What then?
It’s pretty extraordinary to me that the worldview whose best solution to the problem of evil is to hoard wealth hiding behind a high wall with a loaded gun also considers itself the moral, clear-minded and brave one.
Agreed. Imagine, for example, a man who claimed to be a very stable genius who knew more than the experts no matter the subject, but whenever called upon to provide specifics, revealed himself ignorant even of things considered common knowledge.
What if I told you that seemed like the sort of lazy defeatist theology someone would hold if they simply wanted an excuse never to have to deal with their own brokenness, and the effects of that brokenness upon themselves and others, what then.
funny that Jesus said he came to heal and make the whole world new, but so many of his followers cling to the idea of a hopelessly fallen world

maybe they missed the parable where he said heaven was a party w/ everyone invited, and only those who refused to come weren’t there
It’s weird that they miss it because he said that a lot.

Goes to show we need to invest more in our public schools, reading comprehension being what it is.
What if I told you that toxic fantasies of total depravity were very clearly your entire bag, and as a result you’ve become hostile to the very notion of peace, which is why you and I don’t share baseline realities, what then.

“Peace is impossible because the talking snake had a lady eat an apple. End.”

“Well but what if that story, which may point to deep truth, is meant poetically, isn’t the final word on human development and the full story suggests peace is possible?”

“Whoa HOLD ON FANTASY BOY.”
