Chandra Mouleshwara temple, Hubballi, Karnataka.

900 years ago, our temple builders were well versed with Sun's movement across seasons. On #Shivaratri day, sun rays enter from the east on the main Linga, as well as a four faced Shiva in the second garbha griha, sequentially!
If you are in Hubballi, don't miss this nice 12th century architecture Hindu temple. You will be happy to see the exquisite carvings.
It is said, Deva shilpi Jakanachari built (assembled) this in 1 night!

Unfortunately the surroundings are poorly maintained and hard to get here.
After watching the rich carvings in every single wall of Chandramouleshwara temple, I wondered how come we have left such a treasured architecture so poorly?

You can't even park a small car nearby. Very narrow roads and nondescript road signs. We need to showcase heritage better
