Hiring a person who worked for the Trump admin with no news experience who may or may not have signed an NDA to cover politics while dozens of perfectly qualified journalists have been recently laid off is a lot.
I’ll repeat: she’s literally never written a news article and will be overseeing journalists. This would be completely mind boggling even if she hadn’t been the head of comms for the Sessions DOJ.
Setting aside her work as a “GOP operative” - she’s not been hired as a reporter. She’s been hired as an editor and is remarkably unqualified for that role - an insult to the many out of work journalists who are entirely qualified.
There were (and are) plenty of conservative journalists looking for work that could have been hired for this. It does not compute that they were simply looking for ideological diversity. This hire is offensive to qualified editors.
